VOLUNTEERING AT E.L.C.A.P.

What ever your reason for volunteering Easington Lane Community Access Point has something to offer you, there are opportunities in:

  • Youth work - working along side youth workers to promote, provide and deliver a range of services to young people from 8-19 years of age.

  • Crèche work – supporting staff in providing a range of activities to encourage the physical, intellectual. Emotional, social and communication skills of children.

  • Little Laners Toddler group – help in our very popular toddler group to support parents and encourage social and communication skills of both parents and children.

  • Wellness Suite – promote a healthy lifestyle in the community by assisting the training coach in exercise classes, maintaining equipment and inducting new members.

  • Minibus driver – if you passed your driving test before 1997 you could undergo your MIDAS {Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme} training and become a volunteer driver.

  • Garden project – help maintain our new allotment style garden. This is a new project we are undergoing with the ‘Food in School’s’ team and Easington Lane Primary school to help develop healthy eating.

If you don’t fancy doing anything specific there are always odd jobs need doing around the building and we often hold events where we need help organising and supervising, and if you try something and don’t think it's for you, you can always try something else.

For more information on how to become a volunteer, or to ask for an application form, please contact Michelle Baines on 0191 5261071 or e-mail michellebaines1967@hotmail.co.uk
